DWELL for creators
This guide explains what launching on DWELL means for you. It is operational information, not financial or legal advice, and nothing here is a promise of earnings.
What you get
- A token launched on a Meteora Dynamic Bonding Curve with DWELL's shared fee config.
- 30% of all trading fees on your token, claimed on a schedule by the treasury vault and paid to you.
- A token page with a live holder pool figure, a longest holder leaderboard and a public data feed that terminals can read.
What you give up
- The fee config is fixed. You cannot change the fee rate or split for your token.
- Your wallet is excluded from the holder pool. Tokens you hold are never scored.
- 25% of fees go to the platform and 5% to a reserve. 40% goes to holders.
Fee math for creators
Fee rate is 1.0% of trade volume. Your share is 30% of that fee, so 0.3% of volume.
| Daily volume of your token | Total fees | Your 30% |
|---|---|---|
| 100 SOL | 1 SOL | 0.3 SOL |
| 1,000 SOL | 10 SOL | 3 SOL |
| 10,000 SOL | 100 SOL | 30 SOL |
These are arithmetic illustrations, not forecasts. Most tokens will have far less volume than any row above and many will have none. Volume levels shown are assumptions, not data.
Launch steps
The launch page is one screen and one wallet signature. Allow about a minute.
- Open the launch page and drop in a logo. PNG is best; JPG and WebP are converted to PNG, and you can crop it square.
- Type a name. The ticker is suggested from it; change it if you like. The page checks that both are unused among DWELL launches.
- Optionally add a description (280 characters), a website, an X handle and a Telegram handle. They are normalised and written into the token metadata.
- Optionally set a first buy for your own wallet. It is bundled into the same signature as the launch, so it happens before anyone else can trade. The page shows the tokens you would receive, your share of supply and the price impact. It is capped at 5% of supply.
- Connect a Solana wallet, check the "what you pay" box, press launch and sign once.
- Share the token page link. The success screen has a day 0 card and share text.
The page does not create any on-chain config. Every token uses the one shared DWELL config, so a launch is a single transaction that creates the pool and, if you chose one, your first buy.
What a launch costs (devnet, measured)
Measured on 2026-10-13 from two real devnet launches made through the launch route. Cost is the fee payer's lamport change in the confirmed transaction, minus the first buy. It includes the signature fee and account rent, and rent is not refunded.
| Launch | Network cost | Source transaction (devnet) |
|---|---|---|
| No first buy | 0.02059 SOL | 5zYN8VrNbVkdyi5Gat18oMfJC19GoiyPzymVmUh4x517WYso4kQ7Ho9BLj7wkSfzDHzARpnxkjy6UdkDfXAVU6w4 |
| With a 0.1 SOL first buy | 0.02208 SOL, plus the 0.1 SOL buy | 51LDHtERHQMKXiiAbgrSEfP8C8G8NpFNnSBHfxbou9sAM5eB9Mvue1PETPuj2MDRWhWGyYVNHcKeU2QMQdnrkyb6 |
The first buy needs a token account for your wallet, which is why that row costs a little more. The first buy of 0.1 SOL returned 3,714,081 tokens, exactly the amount the page quoted before signing. Devnet figures; mainnet cost has not been measured and must be re-measured before any mainnet claim. Raw data: docs/devnet-proof/launch-cost.json.
Running the launch page (operators)
The page is devnet only. The server refuses any RPC URL that does not name devnet and any cluster whose genesis hash is not devnet's. Settings in apps/web/.env.example:
DWELL_LAUNCH_RPC: devnet RPC URL.DWELL_LAUNCH_CONFIG: address of the shared DWELL config on devnet.LAUNCH_STORAGE:pinata(IPFS, needsPINATA_JWT, optionalPINATA_GATEWAY) orlocal(development only; files are served from this app, so the metadata link works only while the app is reachable).DWELL_PUBLIC_URL: public base URL, used bylocalstorage.
Your obligations
- Do not claim or imply guaranteed returns, yield or profit in anything you publish about the token. This includes social posts.
- Do not impersonate other projects or people.
- Do not use multiple wallets to disguise your holdings. Creator-linked wallets found holding to farm the pool may be excluded and your token may be delisted from the site.
- Keep your own legal and tax position in order. Fee income is likely taxable in many places. See LEGAL-NOTES.md for the platform's flags; they are not advice for you.
After graduation
When the curve reaches 85 SOL the token moves to a pool where the same 1.0% fee continues and the same split applies. Holder payouts continue.
What can go wrong
- Low or zero volume means low or zero fees for everyone.
- A creator selling a large amount can damage the token price and trust, even though the creator wallet is not scored.
- If the platform pauses publication during an incident, payouts are delayed, not lost, subject to the incident runbook in SECURITY.md.
Pilot phase
During the closed pilot only invited creators can launch, and caps apply (see ROADMAP.md). Public launching opens later and is gated on a founder decision.
